The Buena Park Avid Program is set to help you for college prep starting from freshman year all the way until senior year.
Avid stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination where Avid student will learn purposeful note-taking, public speaking, responsibility, critical thinking, writing, reading, and collaboration while also building practices to improve their organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
It is proven that student in Avid program are encouraged to pursue rigorous coursework. Avid also helps to increase there chance of college admission. Avid also helps maintain a certain gpa to ensure you are ready to deliver a college-ready academic performance meaning it gives you more than a 20% boost of getting into college.
Our current Avid program is being run by Ms. Scott and a quote from her is that “Avid helps a kid who wants to have a bright further and get into a great college”.
