Mexican Independence Day

Many hispanics all around the world celebrate Mexican independence day in many different ways. Even non-hispanics celebrate it to give their support to the hispanic communities. On September 16 many hispanics embraced their culture’s independence from Spain on September 16, 1810. It is widely known as Mexican Independence day. Mexico got its independence from the Spanish war that went on for 11 years. On the day of August 24, 1821, Spain accepted the independence of Mexico by granting to the terms of the treaty of Cordoba. 

In Mexico City they celebrated their independence by having the National army show up and showcase their strength and firepower. Along with having soldiers grapple down from helicopters with smoke grenades that make the color of the Mexican flag. The President of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez gave a speech about how he and the country of Mexico, “Will be the death of corruption, the death of classism, the death of racism, and long live Mexico.”
