Sunday, May 11, 2025, is the best day for Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is a significant day not just for you as a kid but also for your mom. It is a day just for her to recognize that she is a mother and she is being appreciated. This goes for all the communities; if it weren’t for mothers, the population of the world would not have been this big. Many countries celebrate this day, and it is an important day to celebrate or gift your mom something on that day. It could bring a smile to your mom, and you could make her feel like a good mom by being with her and also giving her gifts. You could give her gifts, letters, or even take her out to eat. There are many ways to celebrate this day. Mothers shape our lives whether it is shown or not. The second Sunday of May will forever be remembered as Mother’s Day. It is also a way to reflect the love she has given you and the support she has always given you. Whether you have a good relationship with your mom or not, she will always be there at the end for you. There could be love in the world, but there will never be love like a true mother will give you. It is a day where you pause and take a moment for your mother and be there with her the whole day. Mothers love, support, sacrifice, and also fill you with strength. She is someone you will always remember and also someone who will always be remembered. Mothers’ love is unconditional love that will push you till the end.
The History of Mother’s Day:
Mother’s Day was established by Anna Jarvis, who honored her mother and loved her so much. She honored her and respected her, and the first Mother’s Day church service was held in 1908. Ever since that day, it has become a national holiday and has made a big impact on the world to this day. Anna Jarvis said, “Mother’s Day is celebrated with cards, flowers, and family dinners, among other fun activities”. Anna Jarvis was very inspired by her mother. She wrote letters and also made campaigns for those who wanted to celebrate it. It made a huge impact on the world, and every country celebrates Mother’s Day. It also made a huge impact on the Civil War, and people wanted peace after the war ended. It became a national day six years later, after bringing everyone together and having church services.
What Does Motherhood Mean?
Motherhood is unconditional love, guiding, and also sacrificing, but there is always more behind that. Motherhood love is something you don’t ever find in this world, and will be the first and last to love you. From bringing you into this world or waking up in the middle of the night to be there for you is motherhood love. She will guide you and also support you no matter what. She will take you to the right paths and make you know your rights and wrongs. It could also be joyful, exhausting, and complicated. At the end, mothers try to make you a better version of yourself. It is rewarding to them to see their kids grow up and be successful, or pass every class with good grades. It is not just a one-time thing that mothers are going to love you, it is a lifelong commitment. From the first heartbeat you had till giving you advice when you decide to have your own family. She also learned when she grew up with the kid. It is not just about taking care of them or raising them well, it’s growing with them and also being a better person for you and your mother. Motherhood is a protector; she will be overprotective of you and will be the first one to answer the phone when you need something. Motherhood is adapting to your child as well, and not holding them back. There will be life changes, but also soften and adapt to her children’s lives. Today, the whole world could be a mother figure, whether you’re an actual mother, a big sister who raised her little sister and is a mother figure to her, or there are also stepmothers and adoptive mothers. It’s about showing that you are willing to be there for them and be the mother figure to them. You don’t necessarily need to be a mother.
According to the PEW Research Center, you can see in this graph, children spent more time with their mothers than their fathers. In 1965 and 2011, children spent more hours with their moms than with their fathers. Mothers have seen more as the caregivers and the ones who will always play with you and be the first to be there for you. In many households, kids are more likely to be with their mother. Some mothers are even stay-at-home moms, so they spend time with their children to take care of them while the father is working hard for their family. They mainly help their kids with homework, get them dressed for school or to go out, attend school events, and also be there for you for emotional support,t like we already spoke about.
*Remember to always be nice to your mother and give her all the love she deserves. If you have a little sister, auntie, grandma, or older sister, be there for her and protect her because love like a mom will not forever be in this world. Take care of her and provide for her, or even take her out to eat, so you could get a smile out of her. Whether she is with us or not, mothers will always be remembered and they will be known for their hardworking love…..
