May 7th, 2025, was a very important day for the softball team. It was the girls’ senior night. They had a table with a banner saying, “ Congrats Grad! “ and pictures of the Seniors. Many family and friends were there cheering for the girls. This game was also very important because it determined whether they went to the league. People were sitting on the grass, picnic style, and yelling their names as they played. People were surrounding the whole fence all around, including parents from Valencia High School. In the air, there were many balloons that family and friends brought to congratulate the players for their hard work and effort throughout the season. People also had posters and flowers for the girls. At first, BP #8 pitcher struck out #12 in Valencia. After Valencia made a home run, all the girls from Valencia went on the field to warm up by throwing the ball to each other. It was a cold evening, but seeing so many people there supporting the girls from both teams was nice. After a couple of runs and outs from Valencia BP and Valencia High School, they now have the chance to switch places on the field and in their positions. As the pitcher for Valencia, they put in #13, who quickly began the game with an amazing throw towards the batter #29 from Buea Park. Valencia pitcher #13 threw the ball to #29 from Buena Park High School, #29 hit the ball into the outfield, and was able to quickly run and put all their energy into making it to third base. Due to the very close circumstances, unfortunately, #19 from Katella on third base got her out. As #13 from Katella threw the ball to #8 from Buena Park, #8 ran and took the opportunity to run to first base, but Katella was able to catch the ball and got to the base first. Valencia High School unfortunately lost, but our school will now be going on to CIF because of their final score of 15-7.
