This week we had a fundraising event called Soak a Senior, which is where our fellow seniors got together and get together to try and raise money for the class of 2025 events. This school year has been one to remember, and with these fun events, such as Soak a senior, it helps them have more to remember about their high school years. Each day throughout the week, 4 seniors were chosen to participate in getting soaked by friends and staff who paid to splash a bucket of ice-cold water on them. The prices were $3 for a normal bucket of water, or you could go for $5 with a bucket of water with ice. The soak a senior event started off with Fatima Silva, Izeah Reyes, Emily Loza and Alize Gálvez on Monday, Emily Talavera, Liana Mendez, Hannah Clark, and Erin Gaerlan on Tuesday, Jayden Starr, Joseph Williams, Mauricio Manríquez, and Mindy Nguyen on Wednesday and lastly we finished the week strong with Ricardo Rodriguez, Edward Luna, Serenity Mathew, Leija Barrera who took one for the team and had many people come to the quad and pay money to splash them with freezing cold water and it was all fun and games thought the hour of lunch. It was a lot of fun having all our fellow Coyotes get together to splash friends with water, and also at the same time, it helps to raise money for our senior class! All the students had a great time socializing with each other, listening to music, and dumping water all over their friends.
We interviewed one of our fellow seniors, Ricardo Rodriguez, who was one of the seniors who stepped up and let himself get water splashed on him to help raise money for our senior events.
Christian Villaneva: Who am I here with today?
Ricardo Rodriguez: My name is Ricardo Rodriguez
Christian Villanueva: What made you step up to be one of the seniors to get water dumped on them?
Ricardo Rodriguez: Well I just wanted to help raise money so we can raise more money to be able to have good senior events and just do my part to make these events more fun and special.
Christian Villanueva: Thank you.
