On April 8th, 2025, Buena Park Varsity Boys played against Katella High School. During the game, #3 from Katella was on strike two. On the third one, he hit the ball to the outfield, and #8 from BP ran and successfully caught the ball. Then, #12 was able to throw the ball towards 3rd base and get #2 from Katella out. #1 from BP pitched the ball, and #20 from Katella hit the ball and ran to first, then second base. At 3:50, Katella practiced on the field before they switched innings. Pitcher #23 from Katella started the game with a fantastic throw, but BP got a walk and went to first base. #7 from BP was up to bat. He hit the ball and got to second base.
As the crowd was on the edge of their seats, #6 ran as fast as he could and was able to make a home run, which led to #7 and #6 making it a two-run shot. At the bleachers, both teams had many family members and friends supporting them with loud cheers and their chosen walk-up song. The game was a very intense roller coaster, seeing our school hit the ball with all their might. Katella was a very good guest, and listening to their team cheer for each other boosted the energy of the field. At 4:03, the coaches took a break to talk to both teams about any changes or tips they wanted to make.
As the players put their all into the game, the time was dying down, meaning it was going to come to an end. Suddenly, the time was over and both teams shook each other’s hands one by one because they both did a good job. Katella won with a score of 8-2. Both schools did amazingly, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to us next year.
