Last Friday, Buena Park High School’s food fest had to make some last-minute changes due to inclement weather. Instead of being held outside in the quad like usual, the event was moved into the hallways. Some clubs also had a late start setting up because of the International Day assembly that took place right before. Despite these challenges, students and teachers still supported the clubs by buying food and enjoying the event.
Like always, there were many options to choose from at this food fest. Students could buy fast food like Popeyes, In-N-Out, and Chick-fil-A, along with different cultural foods. Even though the hallways were packed with students trying to get their meals, the energy was still great, and people were excited to purchase food. Teachers and staff also got involved, buying food to support the different clubs raising money.
One of the students at the event, sophomore Michael Salinas, shared his thoughts. “This was my favorite food fest so far, even with this weather,” he said. Michael purchased a Popeyes chicken sandwich, and he thought the food tasted fresh. Many students seemed to agree, as the turnout of the food fest was still strong despite the changes. The event showed that even with unexpected challenges, the school can come together as a community to keep traditions alive and have a good time.
