On Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 9 am and 11 am the Buena Park softball girls had 2 amazing wins taking over Oceanview at 9 am and Garden Grove at 11 am. They had an outstanding performance beating Oceanview 7-0, points were made by Justine, Mia, Layla, and also Mere. They kept their clean sheet and did not let Oceanview get any points on the scoreboard. They worked hard and were really focused on all 7 innings. In the first inning, they made 2 points. Following it up in the 3rd inning the girls made 2 points making it 4-0. Lastly in the last inning which is the 7th inning they made 3 points making it 7-0. Oceanview unfortunately got 0 points in all 7 innings. The girls were really excited and had good momentum to continue with their next game against Garden Grove. This made their record improve and are now 3-1 ( 3 wins and 1 loss). To finish off the day, They won against Garden Grove making their record also improve and being 4-1 in their seasons ( 4 wins and 1 loss). They had a close stressful game but they kept going until they found the victory. The score was 6-5 which means in the first inning the Buena Park girls made 2 points to start us off and Garden Grove only made 1. In the second inning, the Coyotes made 3 points and Garden Grove only made 1 again. Unfortunately, in the 3rd inning, both teams worked hard and had zero points on both sides. In the 4th inning, the Coyotes only made 1 point and Garden Grove made 2 making the game more interesting and showing passion in both sides of the team. In the 5th inning, they also had zero points on both sides and showed that the Coyotes wanted to protect their score and be up in the scoreboard to protect their record. Lastly in the 6th inning, Garden Grove tried their hardest but the Coyotes were strong enough to protect their record and get another win.

Manny: What grade are you in and what position are you?
Justine: I am a junior and I play outfield, 2nd base, and also catcher.
Manny: What are your thoughts on this season so far?
Justine: We are excited to play in this new league and also I really think we could go really far and hopefully make it to CIF.
Manny: How do you motivate your team?
Justine: I try to motivate my team by all coming together and picking each other up knowing that we are going to fight for this win.
Manny: How does it feel knowing that you are off to a good start this season?
Justine: It feels good to know that we are starting good in this season because players get confident and have passion to continue playing knowing that we could go far and have faith together.
