Winter brings with it a spell of magic and warmth, and what better thing than the sweet voice of a melodious choir in their concert? Indeed, the start of this winter festival was grand with these wonderfully, precisely chosen pieces that enthralled the audience with a highly talented ensemble presentation.
The first to set the tone of the evening was “A Hanukkah Remembrance” by Victor C. Johnson. This slow, mystical-sounding piece wrapped the room in an enchanted calm. It set a reflective and serene atmosphere for the night. The combined choirs performed the piece with precision and heart that earned appreciation from the audience and enjoyed every moment on stage.
Next, a spellbound audience was introduced to each successive enchantment as a duet was performed. The vocalists, Adrianna Garcia and Alfred Ramirez did an amazing rendition of “When Christmas Comes to Town” by Glen Ballard. Indeed, their voices could not have better blended than they did with the warmth and nostalgia of this holiday season. This was augmented by an obviously enjoyed performance piece by the two performers.
Adding soul to the night, soloist Julissa Contreras sang “Please Come Home for Christmas” by Charles Brown. She did the classic with such heart that a wave of emotion was palpable, striking deep into the crowd. It was just a pure connection between the performer and the audience.
The concert was performed by various ensembles adding their flair to the evening. Among the notable performers was none other than our Chief Editor, Josephine Carroll, as she went up on stage and showed the audience her musical talent. The event did not also run without sweet surprises, like performer Michael Mejia getting a radiant light-up poster from his girlfriend to celebrate his performance in the concert sweet moment adding a personal touch to the night.
