This is the first year that Buena Park High School has made a flag football team in school history. While we are used to seeing high school football teams around the country as the primary sport, with this new sport being introduced to us we can see another type of football make its way to the top. This time with new faces. This year our Coyotes have been working hard during practice and even harder during games. They have been introduced to entirely new concepts and are learning more every day. Each day we get better as a program and we hope to see our Coyotes climb to the top.
Yesterday our Coyotes played against Ocean View High School (Huntington Beach) and fell short of a victory 6-20. Samira Salim (freshman) scored the only touchdown for the coyotes. This doesn’t take anything away from the team as it is a learning experience and helps them mature in their sport. Lili Phillips (junior) led the Coyotes through the game. Although they did not win, they exceeded their limits and gained another valuable learning experience. We hope to see more coyotes out there supporting our ladies in their next game.
