On August 29, 2024 was the girls first home league game at The Den vs Santa Ana HS. Once you start to walk in they have snacks and food available if you want to grab a bite to eat before the game starts.The crowd was very loud and very interactive. Journalism went to cover the girls Frosh volleyball game. With it being the first home league game it was very intense.Many of the girls were excited to see how the game would play out. With the game cutting close, the BPHS Girls Volleyball players were very focused. In the end, During the first set Santa Ana HS won 18-12.
While we were there we got to interact with the crowd. We interviewed Sophomore, Lunden Jones. She was there to support her friend #7. We asked Lunden, “ Would you come to another Volleyball game, “ her response was , “ Yeah. “ We then interviewed Sophomore, Genesis Paz. She was there to show her support for her friend. Before the second set we got to interview a varsity volleyball player, Sophomore Kayla Levina. On a day to prepare for a game she likes to do drills, prepare with her teammates and some scrimmages. We asked, “ What was the best moment in one of the games you’ve had? “ Kayla said, “ I spiked a ball and everyone was jumping and cheering.“ Her emotions during a game is that she tends to get angry but she suppresses it and has a positive mindset, energy, to get her through the game. In the end of the game it ended with Santa Ana Winning 25-15.
