On April 30th, the Buena Park Swim Team sent a total of 14 swimmers to compete in CIF Prelims at Mt. SAC Aquatics Center. Buena Park had 7 girls attending the swim meet, senior Jayden Cervates (Medley relay, 100 Butterfly, 500 Free, 4×50 relay), junior Jayden-Starr Smith (50 Breastroke), junior Selene Hernandez (Medley Relay, 4×50 relay, 100 Backstroke, 4×100 relay), junior Heaven Contreras ( 200 Fr
estyle, 100 Freestyle, 4×50 relay, 4×100 relay), and junior Brianna Mora (Medley relay, 4×50 relay, 4×100 relay). 7 Boys also attended the swim meet, senior Issac Roque (Medley relay, 4×50 relay, 100 Backstroke, 4×100 relay), senior Elijah Trinidad (Medley relay, 50 free, 4×50 relay, 4×100, relay), junior Yony Bautista (Medley relay), sophomore Junior Cervantes (200 freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 4×50 relay, 4×100 relay), and sophomore Liam Gallego (4×50 relay, 4×100 relay). From prelims the coyotes gave it their all and even qualified for finals. Qualifying for the girls finals was the medley relay, 4×50 relay, 4×100 relay, and for individual events was Heaven contreras (100 freestyle, 200 freestyle), Selene Hernandez-Gonzalez (100 backstroke), and Jaiden Cervantes (500 freestyle, 100 fly). Qualifying for the guys was the boys 4×50 relay and 4×100 relay. On May 2nd, the coyotes then attended CIF finals and once again left it all on the pool deck. At the end of the meet, girls placed overall 4th and boys placed 14th place. The Buena Park coyote swimmers took home 20 medals after a successful season.
