Coyote Fashion: A deep dive into the everyday wear of BPHS students
“What am I going to wear today?” is a question that every student at this campus asks themselves before walking out the door. It doesn’t matter if it’s a cold and crisp 60 degree Monday or a scorching hot Friday; BPHS students choose to come to school in the latest fashion.
Clothes have shown to bring a sort of undescribed value into each individual persons’ life. You just don’t have to like clothes for the brand or title behind them. Students chose to wear these outfits out of an appreciation for what’s behind the “Fit”. And that appreciation for fashion was thoroughly discussed by interested Coyotes.
This month, Coyote Paw Print reporters investigated the fashion sense of various students and faculty on campus. Tons of different styles were discussed, such as Emo, Grunge, Streetwear, or Indie, for example. But, there’s much more to the clothes that these students decided to wear in conducted interviews.
What is BP Wearing?
One could consider the styles of Buena Park High School students as a palette of paints; many colors, shades, and vibes stem from the clothing you could see on a regular day. For example, you could see a drastically different shift in threads between two students like Merari Rebollar and Alan Witchicaller.
Alan has a deep appreciation for rock bands such as the Misfits. He resembles this through the clothes that he decides to wear. He says that he likes to embody this style by rocking various dark shades and boots.
However, this is in very stark contrast to Merari. “I usually do lean towards a different style. But sometimes I like to try out new things. I could definitely say that I love pink,” she says. Her love for bright shades and with a simple look is something that could stand out on any day.
Neither Alan nor Merari discredit each other’s fashion because you could always respect the different looks. It’s what makes Buena Park unique. These two students are just a small example of some of the styles you could find roaming around on any given day!
The Latest Trends
Trends and fashion can go hand and hand to influence each other. Fashion is always changing with the times and trends can come from anything; all of this influences the public opinion on certain styles.
For example in the 80’s the biggest fashion trends were mullets, shoulder pads, bright colors, and lots of denim is a stark contrast to a more modern trend like the Opium style which focuses on dark tones, baggy fabric, and lots of textures. These styles could not be more different but they both show a change in times, trends, and fashion, and how what people find fashionable will always be different.
In the end, we all just want to come outside in a way that is presentable. Buena Park makes fashion look great because it’s a blend of diverse and unique styles that go well with everyone. So, continue to put those great fits on because BP will always be unique!
