What is dance? Dance is a form of art that can be expressed in many ways. Some may use dance as a way to de-stress and block out anything negative. Dance contributes to students’ mental, and physical health. The choreography of a dance is how one can understand the emotion of the performance and it’s a way for the dancers to express themselves. Something that can interest the audience more is the music, and the costumes. Another thing that the audience might not notice that is important is the lighting. All these things contribute to the dance being something memorable. At Buena Park High School, we have a dance concert. This year it’s called “ A Winter Dance Classic. “ It’s something many students’ , parents, staff, and administrators look forward to.
A Winter Dance Classic
This year their tickets sold out! There were a total of 21 dances. All were choreographed by students like Melissa Villa, Micheal Lily, Eve Britton, Esmeralda Lepe, Joshua Labrador, Rubie Garza, Emily Talavera, Angel Aguilar and of course Amanda Klaus who is in charge of dance. All dances that were choreographed were very well put together. You can see how much effort and practice students take to perfect their dances. Every dance had their own background and its meaning to the song they were performing to. Dance 1, 2, and 3 performed as well. Overall, the experience at the dance was a memorable experience. If you haven’t attended a dance concert you should definitely attend this year!
