SuperBowl

SuperBowl

This week is superbowl week and you know what that means. Gatherings, parties, a good time to hangout with friends and family, you name it. The Super Bowl has turned into a staple over the years, Dating all the way back to January 15, 1967 when the very first Super Bowl was played. The two teams that played in this very first game of history were the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs, where the Green Bay Packers were able to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs and were crowned as the champs. Since then there have been 57 Super Bowl games played every year. The rest is history from then on, as the Super Bowl would become the biggest game played every year in the United States. From the halftime performances to the ticket prices the Super Bowl is a very big event and will only get bigger as time goes on, It is something that will never die out.

This year’s Super Bowl is the 58th game in this tradition. With the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Funny enough the Kansas City Chiefs were actually in the very first Super Bowl and they are back again. With a regular season record of 11-6 it seemed that this year the Chiefs were having a down year. As last year they were 14-3 and battled all the way to the Super Bowl where they defeated the Eagles 38-35 in one of  the more memorable Super Bowl games in recent memory. Despite this the Chiefs went through the Dolphins, Bills, and Ravens. Playing back to back away games against the Bills and Ravens. The Ravens being the team with the best record this year. They were led by their MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes who led them all the way to a Super Bowl and is looking to capture 3 rings in 6 years. Patrick Mahomes is already a Hall of Fame QB in his very young career. On the other hand we have the 49ers, a very good team in their own right with the top offenses. Including all pro players in Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Ayuik, Christian McCaffrey, and tight end George Kittle. The 49ers finished with a record of 12 and 5 and are looking to win their first Super Bowl in quite some time. As they came up short last year in the NFC Championship Game against the Eagles who would end up losing the Super Bowl. With a fully healthy team and one of the most complete rosters in the NFL, the 49ers are hungry for their first title and it seems that they have a very good chance in winning this Super Bowl.

To get a different perspective we asked around the campus of Buena Park high school to get the opinions of students and staff. The first person we asked was student Jesus. He said that the 49ers were gonna win because of their “offense and because they have guys like Christian Mccaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Ayuik and I think that is just too much for the Chiefs” in his own regard. We then asked coach Chris to see his perspective as he was a football coach. In his words he said “the chiefs look better they have the mvp patrick mahomes i believe they are going to win”. We then asked another student in ron he said “the chiefs are going to win they have a more complete roster”. We then had our last person in Mr Cuevas he said “I don’t really care who wins but just not the chiefs because they are in the raiders division”. It seems that the majority of people think that the chiefs are going to win and in their own right it’s a good pick as the Chiefs are rolling right now and don’t  look like they can be stopped.

The game happened and it started off with the 49ers taking an early 10 to 0 lead in the first quarter. With christian McCaffrey scoring the first touchdown of the game. This didn’t stop the Chiefs though as they would march down the field and kick a field goal. With a 10 to 3 lead at half it seemed that the 49ers were in good shape but no lead was safe from the chiefs. As they would win every superbowl while trailing by 10 or more. The second half started much the same until a muffed punt by the 49ers. Which lead to a big touchdown by the chiefs. This swayed the momentum into the chiefs favor, but the 49ers would march down the field and score another touchdown. Gaining the lead back once again the chiefs would go all the way down a score another touchdown. Will time expiring the 49ers needed a field goal to tie. They would have a clutch drive and get the field goal to send it to overtime. In overtime the 49ers would make a mistake they will forever haunt them. They won the toss and decided to take the ball. They would go all the way down to the 20 yard line but struggled to score. They would have to kick a field goal and give the Kansas city chiefs a chance to win the game and they wouldn’t let that chance slip. Patrick Mahomes had a master drive passing and running bringing his team to the goal line. Where he would pass the game winning touchdown to Mecole Hardman and will win his third title in 6 years and will also capture his third superbowl MVP cementing himself as a top quarterback of all time. The chiefs have now won 2 in a row and don’t look like they are slowing down yet. A new dynasty has been born in the modern nfl.
